Thanks

We are so grateful to the following wonderful people who have helped Stellar Theatre immeasurably.

Lloyd Owen

Before Amazon’s Lord of the Rings took Stellar Company actor Lloyd to New Zealand, he was instrumental to the development of the Stellar company, generously bringing his unparalleled ideas, insights and contacts to founders Karen and Peggy.

Sam Smith

Sam is an undergraduate at Christ’s College, Cambridge, studying English. Christ’s referred him to Stellar and he began as our Intern before swiftly progressing to Associate. He is omni-talented, running all the technical aspects of the company, our social media, and pitching in on just about everything. We would be lost without his general brilliance.

Toby Smith

Toby graduated from Queen Mary University, London, with a BA in Film Studies. He is a Stellar Associate specialising in video production, creating content, online and asset management, technical innovation and live streaming. In fact, Toby is the ultimate Stellar troubleshooter!

Lor Bingham

Lor is Stellar’s social media Associate, devising strategy, designing posts and interacting with our community. She also owns and runs Calico Editing and Author Services, working closely with authors to help turn first-draft manuscripts into engaging, memorable and successful books. Mother-of-three Lor also enjoys painting, reading, baking, and inspiring everyone in Stellar.

Lorien Haynes

Stellar actor and playwright Lorien was an early adopter of digital theatre with her much lauded play Good Grief, starring Sian Clifford and Nikesh Patel. She is a constant and gracious source of inspiration and research, and generously shares her fantastic contacts with us.

Jack Paul

Jack is co-founder Karen’s more theatrical son, having notably appeared as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd, and is also a first-year undergraduate student of French at Durham University. Jack was involved in the early Stellar readings and helped us trial the plays for our collection.

Leo Lucas

Leo worked as a strategic planner in London advertising agencies before moving into an international role working for global brands. He now consults for brands in arts, fashion, and entertainment, specialising in start-ups and small but growing businesses. From its inception, Leo has advised Stellar on brand and marketing.

Caroline Jackson-Levy

With a successful career spanning advertising, publishing, and events, Caroline retrained as an organisational behavioural psychologist, now running a thriving private practice. She supports Stellar by offering professional advice regarding advertising, sales, strategy and social impact. And, whenever possible, she offers Karen and Peggy homemade cakes.

Claire Nielson

Stellar Company actor Claire, who, by complete coincidence is also co-founder Peggy’s mother, is an all-round advisor to Stellar. When in her fifties she graduated with an English degree from King’s College, Cambridge, which is put to good use in her work as a reader for Stellar, assessing many of the new plays submitted.

Dennis Vance (1924-1983)

Dennis was Stellar co-founder Peggy’s father. A British television producer, director and actor, he was the original producer of Armchair Theatre, a British television anthology of new plays that ran on the ITV network between 1956 and 1974. This idea of bringing stage drama into the home was instrumental to the conception of Stellar Theatre.

But no thanks to …

Walter

Walter is Karen’s Labrador puppy. He has eaten Karen’s AirPods, two pairs of her glasses, the replacement AirPods, and all her credit cards. He also barks and farts in meetings.
